My Approach
I work from a systemic lens and believe that our wellbeing is impacted by our understanding of how we interact and make meaning of the environmental and social structures we experience. These structures include our gender, racial, ethnic, and sexual identities as well as our family structure, work environment, culture, spirituality, etc. I strive to tailor my therapeutic a approach to each person I work with and intentionally utilize techniques based on the client's goals and level of care. I am trained in several modalities including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Relational Life Therapy (RLT), Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), Polyvagal Theory, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (MCBT).
About me
I received a MS in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2017 and a BA in Psychology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. In addition to my work as a psychotherapist, I am a mother, wife, activist and Golden Knights fan.
Getting Help
I strongly believe that we don't begin to consider making changes in our life until it becomes too uncomfortable not to. What brings joy to one person may bring another person suffering depending on the individual's values and resources. The change process is so unique and distinctive, so I encourage a collaborative process in which the client is the expert of their own experience and I help to provide the space and safety to explore their constraints and strengths.
